About Native Roots Gardening and Design

About

 

Joah has been surrounded by gardeners and nature since he was five. He grew up learning all about growing plants and agriculture. Joah is a quick learner, and cultivation has always come naturally to him.

After working in the trade show business for over 15 years he started helping other gardening businesses and realized he had a passion for landscaping, gardening, and fruit trees.  Having professional installation and decorating skills from his previous job, he has added this knowledge to his gardening and landscaping business.


Edible Landscaping 

Joah has studied syntropic agroforestry and has a passion for specializing in rare tropical and subtropical fruit trees and plants that grow in the Mediterranean climates of our surrounding Bay Area zones.

He believes that planting edible Landscaping is the most beneficial way to utilize any garden space along with creating something naturally beautiful to enjoy and share.


In Joahs spare time he works on his property with his 5-year-old daughter. He loves teaching her all about exotic fruits and vegetables, and she is the best little helper. Joah and his family love to go camping, hiking, fishing, and being in the outdoors with their dogs. His wife also loves to cook especially fresh caught ling cod for tacos or fresh clams from Bodega Bay and make Linguine Alle Vongole. The family just welcomed a new baby girl in 2024 and can't wait for more family life experiences.
